Their vision is that young people and adults in England have knowledge and skills matching the best in the world and are part of a truly competitive workforce. The LSC work nationally, regionally and locally to deliver this ambition on behalf of learners and employers.

They provide business support, events, commercial services and lobby on behalf of the business community. Their membership continues to grow strongly and reflects the varied nature of the sub-region’s economy.

York & North Yorkshire Partnership Unit
An independent unit set up by partners across York and North Yorkshire to develop a joint approach to economic strategy encapsulated in the Sub Regional Investment Plan process. It also seeks to coordinate external funding into the sub region from sources such as the European Union and Yorkshire forward. It has set up a partnership structure to lead on this work. It also seeks to coordinate research and its dissemination.
