Ryedale's future looks bright with current premier business locations going strong and exciting large-scale development plans in the pipeline.
Future Developments
Ryedale is home to a wealth of successful, traditional agricultural, manufacturing and tourism businesses. New developments will increase diversity in the district with an increasing focus on the technology & business sector.
Discussions are being held regarding a major new development at Malton & Norton, which would attract knowledge based organisations and create more quality jobs in the area. A public exhibition of the proposals is to be held on December 6th at the Milton Rooms, Market Square, Malton, from 1pm until 8pm.
It is likely that 45 hectares of land across Ryedale is to be ear marked for future employment development, with Malton & Norton as strong areas to target. Steered by government guidelines, Knight Frank has assisted the Council in identifying the potential future sites including land next to Thornton Road Industrial Estate in Pickering. Development is underway at Norton Grove Industrial Estate.
Minster Industrial Properties Ltd has submitted a planning application for a mixed-use site of industrial, leisure and office units. Buildings from 1500 sq ft will be available to lease or buy, with plots of land from 0.2 acres also for sale. At the same time, the company are undertaking the refurbishment of existing units on the estate. Mick Singleton of Minster Industrial Properties Ltd said; "We are absolutely delighted with the response. There seems little doubt that the estate will soon be generating a new wave of development and employment activity. We are able to offer a full range of opportunities from an individual plot of land up to a major designed and purpose built employment facility".
Brian De-Vere at Yorkshire Bank commented; "This is one of a number of enquiries that we are looking to support throughout Ryedale and the East Coast in general. It has been an extremely busy year and it would seem that 2007 will continue in the same vein".
Current Opportunities
There's also no shortage of current property available in Ryedale.
The Maltings - a multi let office centre in Malton town centre is currently for sale. Wells Lane in Malton is a character building, to let, which would suit a range of uses including offices. The Fitzwilliam Estate in Malton also has a range of sites and buildings available. Lying close to the A64, Castle Howard Park Farm Courtyard at Easthorpe is situated only 16 miles from York.
