Its 'all change' at york-england.com

The outgoing Chair and Vice Chair, both received a vote of thanks from the board of york-england, for the contribution they had made to the board's success. "We are extremely grateful for the long running support and enthusiasm that they have freely given to the organisation," said Brian Percival. Brian Percival, the new Chair, said: "I believe that we have some solid foundations on which we can build, as we move ahead into a period of an expanded role for the inward investment agency. The inward investment review we are carrying out will set the direction of the organisation, which will proactively promote North Yorkshire as a great place to invest and live." This feeling was echoed by new Vice Chair, Peter Wilkinson, non-executive director of a variety of companies, and high profile North Yorkshire businessman. "We want to make sure that we present the whole of the sub-region in the most favourable light to potential investors. We will achieve that by respecting the diversity of different locations, but at the same time presenting their combined strengths." In line with her plans to pursue a different career path, Imelda Havers, Chief Executive of york-england.com, has decided to step down at this time. She said: "I have helped to move the organisation through a period of great change, and I now have the opportunity to pursue my career in a different direction. I feel confident that Brian Percival, aided by Peter Wilkinson, will move york-england.com ahead on a route that will continue to attract businesses with quality jobs to York and North Yorkshire." Yorkshire Forward's Business Director, Susan Johnson, commented that the organisation was in a strong position to move forward into its North Yorkshire role. She added that: "Imelda has provided excellent stewardship of york-england.com over recent years and has laid solid foundations to move the agency into its broader role in the sub region. Yorkshire Forward's continued support of york-england.com is a reflection of the great work done to date and the future inward investment opportunities it is poised to exploit."
