Green light given for York Business Park

City of York planners have given the go ahead on Business Livings Opus and Novus schemes at York Business Park.

Business Living at York Business Park will comprise of three phases of about 65,000 sq ft of office units. Phase 1 will comprise 30,000 sq ft - six two-storey units between 2,600 sq ft and 6,100 sq ft, in a landscaped setting. They are also developing around 44,000 sq ft of Hi-Tech units, which have ground floor workshops and first floor offices.

Construction work on the new accommodation, to be developed by Business Living, is due to start early this year and completion is anticipated for autumn.

Business Living is a subsidiary of Evans Property Group based in Leeds, which plans to build the new accommodation at York Business Park where the Group launched a new industrial complex, The Forum, this month.

Iain Robertson, Managing Director of Business Living said:  “Ours is an exciting new concept which we know can offer a new alternative for small business enterprises and investors in York.

“The individual business units will be built to a very high specification – and they will be available freehold at a competitive rate so small businesses will be able to afford them to give them greater control and stability as they grow.

“Business Living provides a secure and ‘home from home’ environment. We see York as an ideal city in which to launch this concept as there is a shortage of good, modern office accommodation for people to buy and a thriving growing small business community, some of which are in locations where there are no opportunities to expand.”
