Designer Rebecca Stoner will be amongst a nationwide audience eagerly tuning in to new prime-time TV drama ‘The Secret Diary of a Call Girl’ when the much talked-about ITV series, based on the infamous blog of the high-class call girl known as Belle de Jour, hits our screens this Autumn.

For Rebecca, the new series will be the on-screen debut for a selection of soft-furnishings and greetings cards from her most recent collection, hand-picked by the Tiger Aspect production team to furnish the swanky Notting Hill apartment of the drama’s central character, played by actress Billie Piper.

“I couldn’t believe it when I got the call from ITV!’’ says Rebecca. “The Secret Diary of a Call Girl is a fantastic showcase for my designs. It’s so exciting to play my part in bringing a major TV production to life, knowing my work will be viewed by millions of people across the UK week after week.”

The York St John University and Huddersfield University graduate has also been selected to exhibit her latest range of designs at ‘Top Drawer Autumn’, a high-profile event in Olympia, London which attracts buyers from across the UK on the hunt for the hottest design-led products for the Christmas market.

It’s been a rapid rise to success for Rebecca, who first established her company Rebecca Stoner Surface Pattern Design in 2005, and she is working hard to ensure her success in business complements that of her obvious natural talent for design.

Helping Rebecca fulfil her business ambitions is Business Promoter Deborah Girdlestone from Science City York. “Rebecca is a hugely talented surface pattern designer with extensive creative range; her eye for detail and ability to predict trends make her a very versatile designer in a range of media. We're delighted that her soft furnishings have been selected for The Secret Diary of a Call Girl - and that she can enjoy such well-deserved national recognition.”

Rebecca creates her contemporary designs by using a blend of digital photography and hand-painted sketches. The designs are then digitally reproduced or screen-printed using traditional techniques onto different surfaces including textiles, card and glass, before being transformed into a stunning collection ranging from cushions, bed runners and fabric wall panels to greetings cards and drink coasters.

Rebecca adds “As well as the personal thrill of having my work included in such high-profile projects, national exposure on this scale is priceless. ITV and Top Drawer are very welcome additions to my list of clients.”
