Public Open Day at the Royal Hall
Harrogate International Centre will be opening the Royal Hall doors on bank holiday Monday 5th May for the public to visit and enjoy the breathtaking restoration work, which cost £10.8m to complete.
There are no official tour guides, instead visitors are invited to stroll through the Hall at their own pace using an information leaflet available on entry. The staff team on duty that day will be on hand to answer visitor’s questions. A programme of entertainments will run throughout the day and a children’s entertainer has been booked for the younger members of the family. Refreshments will also be available.
Admission is free, and there is no need to book. Doors open at 11am until 4pm.
Group tours can be arranged for after the bank holiday by emailing requests to royalhalltours@harrogate.gov.uk.
The Mercer Art Gallery on Swan Road is also open during the bank holiday where an exhibition celebrating the history of the Royal Hall is on view displaying paintings, prints, drawings and related ephemera. Admission is again free and the Gallery will be open from 10am until 5pm.
