York based law firm set to recruit 150 new employees

Wednesday 11th March 2009

York based law firm Minster Law Solicitors is thought to be carrying out one of the legal industry’s biggest recruitment drives in 2009, bucking employment trends reported across the country. The firm is due to recruit 150 new employees this year with posts being created across all areas of the business including Solicitors, Paralegals, Client Support Advisors & Contact Centre operations. The firm is currently in the final stages of several large tenders, which, on their own could generate over 50 new jobs before this summer.

Minster Law currently owns two sites, one in York and one in Wakefield and the increase in personnel will bring these locations to full capacity, which has prompted consideration   for expansion to a third site later in the year.

A ray of sunshine in the economic gloom, the growth plan is set to bring fresh opportunities for professionals across Yorkshire and a particular boost for Wakefield. The plans come as a result of Minster Law meeting their three year business plan a year earlier than previously forecasted.

Matthew Briggs, CEO at Minster Law commented:

"By challenging convention in a jaded legal sector, where people often don’t know where to turn for legal advice,  our innovation and continual investment enables us to deliver legal services in a way consumers take for granted in other sectors. Our corporate structure and enterprise philosophy means we are leading the way in making access to legal services both affordable and easy."

"It is extremely pleasing to enjoy profitable growth in these times, but we don’t take our position for granted. Our people and culture help drive for constant improvement, this is reflected in our overall business performance."

"Although we are a solicitors firm, we are not just looking for legal experts, but a wide range of talented people. People who create the great force in making Minster a top 25 law firm in the UK by 2011."
