Regulars present opportunities

If you have a business seeking senior executives, managerial, technical, supervisory staff or skilled operatives, the Regular Forces Employment Association (RFEA) could help.
The RFEA is part of the Career Transition Partnership, an organisation which helps those leaving the armed forces find work in ‘civvy street’.
Gareth Barnes is the recruitment manager with the RFEA based in Darlington, which covers the North Yorkshire region. He says that businesses using the service are tapping into a recruitment pool which includes some of the region’s most talented people.
AMEC is a recent user of the service and a spokesperson described its experience of the service: “Service leavers bring many attributes, gained through their military careers. They have a positive attitude, ability to adapt to new situations, and a keen willingness to learn.”
“We offer a high quality, no fees recruitment service to organisations seeking the best,” said Gareth. “As an integral part of the Career Transition Partnership (CTP) and with a network of 24 offices throughout the UK, the Regular Forces Employment Association (RFEA) and the Officers’ Association (OA) have access to all Service leavers. Our candidates are highly motivated results driven individuals who can bring considerable experience to any business.”
Gareth said the service included:
- An on-line recruitment service – companies can register and add your vacancies to the REFA’s on-line vacancy database, Right Job, which enables Service Leavers to search and apply directly to businesses.
- No recruitment fees – As the CTP is a partnering agreement with the Ministry of Defence there is no charge to businesses.
- A personalised service – a local Employment Consultant can discuss individual needs, process vacancies and match suitable candidates quickly and effectively.
