Total success for property auction

Friday 6th November 2009

A bustling sale room saw 100 per cent of the lots available sold at Auction House Stephenson & Son's inaugural property auction, well above the 71 per cent national average of sold rates for auctioneers in the UK.

Properties in the sale included an Edwardian former Methodist Chapel in the popular village of Alne, north of York. The property attracted keen interest at the open viewing days and this carried through into the sale room. After competitive bidding auctioneer Rodney Cordingley dropped the hammer at a sale price of £127,000, 30 per cent over the guide price.  Auction House Stephenson & Son is the fastest growing network of property auctioneers in the country, and so far this year has sold over 770 properties.

At the core of Auction House Stephenson & Son is the knowledge that properties sell at higher prices when professionally marketed and auctioned locally - allowing the brand to deliver the unbeatable combination of local expertise and national coverage. Speaking after the sale Auction House Stephenson & Son auctioneer Rodney Cordingley said: “We are delighted to sell all the properties on offer at our first sale.  It is clear that both buyers and sellers alike are recognising the benefits of the auction system. If you have a property, land or commercial premises you think may be suitable, we are now taking entries for our next auction on February 2010”.
