Going Green? Join the club
Wednesday 24th February 2010
The North Yorkshire Green Business Club provides local businesses with information, advice and signposting to help them to make environmental improvements, alongside opportunities for networking with like-minded professionals and industry experts.
The Green Business Club, which held its launch event ‘Going Green – support for your business’ in York on 12th February, is aimed at small to medium-sized businesses in North Yorkshire and is supported by CO2Sense Yorkshire with funding from Yorkshire Forward and the ERDF.
The Club promotes the business case for good environmental management practices, helps businesses to access information, support and the tools to make improvements and is a forum for sharing best practice among local businesses. Central to the support offered to members is a programme of events, including seminars, workshops and networking opportunities throughout the year.
Its next event ‘Cut Carbon, Cut Cost’ on Monday 8th March will give hands-on support to businesses to understand their carbon footprint and reduce energy costs.
For more details of the North Yorkshire Green Business Club and the support on offer please contact Louise Woollen, Green Business Club Coordinator on 01904 554638 or email louise.woollen@4sustainable-energy.co.uk.
The Green Business Club also coordinates the Why Waste exchange for North Yorkshire. The Why Waste project has been running for over a decade to raise the profile of waste as a resource rather than a cost.
The online business waste exchange encourages businesses to post waste materials that could be used by others as a raw material, or alternatively request a material that is a waste stream from another business.
Visit www.whywaste.org.uk and navigate to the ‘Waste Exchange’ or contact louise.woollen@4sustainable-energy.co.uk for more information and support.
