There’s plenty of activity in the district of Hambleton, which lies in the Vale of York between the North Yorkshire Moors and the Yorkshire Dales National Park.
Market town living is the central focus of life in Hambleton and business activity is centred around these towns. Northallerton is a bustling market town with its popular twice weekly markets and the administrative capital of North Yorkshire. Kilburn is home to the famous ‘mouseman’ carpenter Robert Thompson. Thirsk, Stokesley, Easingwold, Great Ayton and Bedale all have beautiful scenery and many varied attractions, with each town possessing their own unique character and style.
The district has excellent transport provisions. Northallerton is situated on the East Coast Main Line providing fast, direct links to London and Edinburgh. Local connections can be made from Thirsk. Durham Tees Valley Airport lies just outside the district to the north and Leeds-Bradford Airport is to the south.
There is a wealth of spectacular scenery in the district, with both the Yorkshire Dales and the North York Moors just a stonesthrow away. Hambleton offers plenty of ways to appreciate these views, including the North Yorkshire Moors Railway and the Heritage Adventurers Trail.
