Woodend Creative Workspace

If you are engaged in the Creative Sector and are looking for somewhere to locate, then the Woodend Creative Workspace Scarborough provides a first class working environment, beautiful surroundings, and classic architecture all in an environment purpose-designed for creative enterprises.

Excellent Location with Artistic Links

Based around the former grand villa of the Sitwells, and located in a crescent of Georgian houses, the new centre has been brought into the 21st century by Allen Tod Architecture. With 12,000 sq ft of office space and 2,000 sq ft of studios the centre includes a business incubation unit for start-up companies. There will also be a public gallery, a tenants’ coffee and meeting room, and an education suite.

Located close to the town centre, yet set above the beautiful South Bay, the centre will be ‘the place to be’ in Scarborough, designed to form the focal point of a wide and thriving arts scene. Managed workspace will be let to a mix of new and existing small businesses, including: Graphic Designers, Photographers, Writers, Musicians, Marketeers, Artists and many more besides.

Thriving Arts Scene

New companies will be joining a lively creative scene, already enjoying the Scarborough location. Current players in the creative sector include such major names as the Stephen Joseph Theatre and Pindars, the printers. Plus there are a host of smaller companies such as Save9, Electric Angel Design, and many individual writers and artists such as Roger Osborne, Alan Davis and Andrew Cheetham.

A Great Place To Live

The setting alone makes Scarborough a wonderful place to live, with the fabulous bays and the sea providing an ever-changing backdrop to life. But the education system is also worth writing home about, including the arts and IT courses run at the University of Hull Scarborough campus. Together with sensibly priced property, and a huge variety of entertainment, it’s a great place to live. For example, there are over 150 festivals and events in the area, including cultural, arts and music events. And if you are looking for longer-term commitment to development, then look no further than the Renaissance project, which is set to transform the public spaces of Scarborough.
